Board of School Director Vacancy interviews
At Northeastern School District's public special board meeting on June 12, 2023 beginning at 6 p.m., interviews will be held for the open position of board of school director as well as any other business brought before the board. Interviews will be conducted publicly for the current school board to appoint one of these candidate(s) to fill this vacancy within region #2 of the district.
To keep the interview process equitable for all candidates, this meeting will not be live streamed. The meeting will be recorded for viewing afterwards.

Board Seat Vacancy
Effective May 15, 2023, a vacancy exists on the Board of School Directors of the Northeastern York School District. The board director will represent Region 2 (Manchester Borough, Mount Wolf Borough, and Newberry Township).
In accordance with the School Laws of Pennsylvania, the remaining members of the Board intend to fill the vacancy at a public meeting within thirty (30) days. The individual appointed will serve until the first Monday of December 2023.
In addition to being a current resident of the District and Region 2 (Manchester Borough, Mount Wolf Borough, and Newberry Township), Section 322 of the Public School Code of 1949 as amended limits eligibility to: “Any citizen of the Commonwealth, having a good moral character, being eighteen (18) years of age or upwards, and having been a resident of the district for at least one (1) year, prior to the date of his election or appointment.”
Eligible individuals interested in being considered for this vacant office should submit a letter of application, which must be received (mailed, faxed, or hand carried) by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, addressed to the Northeastern York School District Board of School Directors, C/O Board Secretary, 41 Harding Street, Manchester, PA 17345.
The letter of application must include the applicant’s address, email, home and work telephone numbers, current resume, and a statement of the reasons why the applicant desires to serve as a school director.
Each new eligible candidate may be interviewed in a special public board meeting to be held, Monday, June 12, 2023, beginning at 6:00 pm. Candidates will receive an invitation to the meeting via their email.
The Board of School Directors intends to interview and appoint the new director to fill the vacancy at the special board meeting to be conducted on Monday, June 12, 2023.

The list below is certainly not an exhaustive list, but does offer opportunities across Franklin, Adams, and York Counties, as well as providing additional information on organizations and resources. As additional information may come out, we will be sure to share it with all families. Please feel free to contact your program social worker for specific information or additional supports for your summer needs.

The Educational Surrogate Parent acts in the place of the parent to help make education decisions on behalf of children who are or may be eligible for special education services.
