Northeastern School District Assistant Superintendent

Dr. Melissa Sica has been a dedicated member of the Northeastern School District since 1999, beginning her career as a mathematics teacher at Northeastern High School. After nine years in the classroom, she transitioned into administration, serving as Assistant Principal at the high school for a decade. She then led as Principal of Spring Forge Intermediate for five years before assuming her current role as Assistant Superintendent.

In her capacity as Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Sica oversees professional development, curriculum, and federal programs, working closely with educators and the community to enhance educational outcomes. She also serves as the district's Title IX Coordinator, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and promoting a safe, inclusive environment for all students and staff.

Beyond her work in the district, Dr. Sica is also passionate about educator development. She serves as an adjunct faculty member with Immaculata University, where she teaches in the math coach certification program. She finds great joy in teaching teachers and sharing best practices in math instruction to empower educators in their work. Her dedication to lifelong learning and instructional excellence continues to shape her impact on both students and educators.
